I have had to interview a number of candidates for an admin position in my office. It is dismaying to observe the inappropriate & immodest attire worn by many if not most.
It is similarly disappointing to see such inappropriate clothing worn to church.

Whether they are wearing it or stating it, are we pimping our children with sexual messaging? And if so, who is to blame?

Educators are also to blame. I work at a university that educates graduate level healthcare professionals and was tasked to update sections of the student and faculty handbooks recently. When I added women should not wear low cut attire showing cleavage as a part of the dress code the language was struck by the chairman. The chairman and assistant program director informed me in a private meeting that there needed to be some “benefits” built into the dress code policy. They mocked me and implied I was a prude. If we can’t look to our educators and leaders for guidance at this level I’m not sure the problem of inappropriate dress will improve anytime soon. Maybe we should focus energy on pre and elementary educators and hope they can instill guidance and influence our children at a younger age.
